Dunedin

Beautiful sunny day, passby the lake & huge Clyde Dam along the way to Dunedin. And we stopped by Penguin Colony hoping to see some blue Penguin, but no luck : (

No Penguin so I became 1 lor : )

Dunedin, I have listed under my fav town hahaha : D It used to call "Edinburgh" and even the road name & building also look similar to Edinburgh.

The 2nd rainbow we saw during our journey, and it's a double rainbow...

My Fav pic, rainbow over the church. Just a pity there's some rain drops on it.

No time to waste, we did a quick check-in then proceed to the Otago Peninsular before the sky get dark. The Lake looks just like mirror, calm & clear. But somehow the lake gave me a sense of sadness & loneliness hahaha dun kn y, maybe is the calmness & the weather or just simply my imo... : )
The view from the Light house of Otago Peninsula. Can't see any blue/yellow penguin leh : ( U ppl can't wait to see his pic right? hahah... here you go... parking at a steep road :)
A visit to the Speights Brewery, the water is used for making Beer. And it's free for the public too, so anyone can just take & consume at own risk. The famous Captain Cook. Mr Speight and his award. The award is worth over millions of dollars & it's the only pc left. The huge dome for the Beer fermentation.
We got free beer, and free 'bartender' : )
hmmm... nice beer, his fav "Speight Distinction'' : p

Mt Cook

It's going to be a 4hrs drive from Christchurch to Mt Cook. We going to cross the Canterbury field and its beautiful. The sky has turned dark again, and very heavy rain & strong wind when we reached Lake Tekapo. Stopped by Church of The Good Shepherd, a place I dun wanna miss.

We stayed at YHA Mt Cook hostel, small but very cosy.
Actually we have a very nice view from our room, but too bad the weather was terrible, been raining the whole day. We could only see cloudy vision of the mountain. : ( & I have been sitting near the window whole day, hoping the sky to be clear soon....

2nd day morning, still raining...but we not gave up, drove out to Tasman Valley : ) Again not an easy road.

We going for the Tasman Glacier View, it was cold out there & still drizzling. A 15mins ..not walked but climbing up some rocky path. It's definitely worth the effort. The view was awesome, just a pity we can't captured in pic. However we enjoyed the journey.

The melting glaciers behind me.

MT COOK, I WILL BE BACK!!!
-----------------------------------------------------------
The sky was clearer after we left Mt Cook & on the way to Queenstown. Just before we entered the highway, we were told the road, Lindis Pass was closed due to heavy rain. Oh no... tat means we have to make alternate route to another destinations. So we decided to go Dunedin which supposed to be our last stop before going back to Christchurch & fly back Auckland. Anyway, was not a bad decision after all, coz it's sunny at the East Coast : )

Christchurch

The weather has been good since we arrived South Island, its really lots of difference between both Islands. Not only weather, but the landscape, as well as the cattle's, sheep : p At north side the sheep seems to be bigger & 'clean', but at the south it looks smaller & ofcoz...hahaha abit dirty. Sheep crossing..slow down ^^)

And we passed by Hanmer Spring, another small & beautiful town. A scenic route....and strong wind too.. we could feel our little red car swivels to a side, so we have to drive very slow.

Christchurch Cathedral Church.

Thou is another city, but we found that it's kinda bored staying here. Shops closed early & nothing much to do in this city.

Another fav food at this Greek restn, I love the souvlaki. We had these again after we returned from Queenstown.
The last day at Christchurch before we flew back to Auckland, we were so bored & decided to drive north to Lynnette. We read about the road to Lynnette and decided to take the adventures & scenic route...& that's my nite mare... : ( ofcoz the scenery was awesome & was snowing too. But just half way thou, the snow gets heavier & heavier... & our little car lost grip..OMG... luckily we got help from the locals. Instead of putting on the snow chain our car was pushed manually to make an U-turn in a steep, narrow, whining road. Can you imagine how scary that was? I was freak out, thinking that anytime we might just fell off the cliff & bye bye to the world. Ya very adventures but I will nvr want to try that again.

And finally we reached Lynnette via a safer road.
just for a cuppa famous coffee. : )
