MoonCakes Festival

Every year this time I would get my frenz fr JB to get me a box of my fave mooncakes at Lavender, a Malaysia brand. But this year I din buy any coz thinking of trying other brands.
Here's some mooncakes I had for this seasons:
MoonCakes from Starbuck coffee. Nice packaging, small box for the snow skin mooncakes, very unique.

2 favours: coffee & white chocolate snow skin.
Instead of egg yolks it's replaced by coffee & white chocolate. The taste is unique, not quite like Mooncakes, and ofcoz very sweet.

Mooncakes from GoodWood Park. It's 4yolks white lotus but.... i din get a chance to taste it coz Mum has given it away to Bro .. : (
But I got this Durian paste snow skin instead...eee...yurks... OMG... when we cut open, the durian aroma filled the whole living room. I tot I could gave it a try but too bad I still can't overcome the smell of durians....The durian lovers might love this fav. Another set of mooncakes from Ritz Calton. 2 yolks white lotus, nothing much to rave abt.

Kinda disappointed by Hotel's mooncakes, (have tried Regent & Marina Mandarin's too but dun want waste my pix) thot it will taste much better than confectionery shop becoz of the branding : (

Still prefer my all time fave, Lavender. Will con't to give full support.

Moon Cake/Lantern Festival

Moon cake Festival, a season to spend time with family members. Countries like China, Taiwan & HK will declared a public holiday during this season, except for S'pore : ( we have to work as usual. But this year it fall on a Sunday so everyone has no excuse not to come : } As usual we will celebrate on the eve & have the kids come over to have fun.

Tea & Pomelo, a must for digestion after we took the mooncake ; p

Boxes of mooncakes ready for us : p We always received gifts from relatives & frenz so no need to buy ..hehee.. this year we have Mooncake from Ritz Carlton, Shangri-la, and Lavender.

This is my fav. brand Lavender, Branch at Malaysia. Only started to sell in S'pore for the past few yrs, last time I have to ask frenz to get it from JB, this yr Dar bought it for me : } tkz tkz . I like the taste, it's not so sweet & it's very well baked.

the packaging also very presentable.

& the egg yokes... yummy.. I love traditional mooncake, white lotus paste with egg yokes hehehe..

Got mooncake, tea & pomelo sure must have the highlight of the day.. THE LANTERN.. hhaaa I tot my sis-in-law already bought lantern for our Prince, but was surprised that she din... guess she must have tot that we will get 1 for him. Anyway went to few place at last min & managed to find some traditional paper lanterns..hengz..if not the boy will be very upset. My sis, more luck, she found some at Bugis street : ) the Spider man.. and a fish..

definitely Princess Clara will wan the fish...

but kids ...hmmm fickle minded... after awhile she preferred the traditional one

and the Prince saw it also follow suit....

my mum & sis busy lighting up the lanterns : )

beside all the stuff mentioned above, there's 1 more hilarious stuff to introduce... the drum. For what? : D .. don't know whose idea to bring over this drum, & the kids started to hit on it.

Throw aside the lantern & they turned to hit the drum instead....

Last but not least.... the final catch... THE LION DANCE... *faint*....

Moon Cake Festival

2nd yr Moon Cake Festival Celebration at work place. This year ofcoz will be at our new premises - the outdoor Terrace. Thou it's a day event but the Organizing group has tried their best to create the atmosphere by putting up lanterns.

All kinda mooncakes awaiting.... I like the traditional mooncakes, especially with egg yokes : } yummy...

and not forgetting the Pomelo, the skin of the fruit can be make into Lantern & also can be make into a cap for the kids. Anyway that's the old traditonal way : ) guess most ppl dun do it now.

All of them waiting outside for the game to start. We have to 'chai ten me' guess the Riddle. And 3 cash prices to be won by the group.

Non Chinese colleagues also involved, very good, racial harmony : ) The Riddle has to be guessed by the Chinese & the non -Chinese will have to write the answers in Chinese Character & submit to get points... Team work : D

Another Colleague she brought her son here to join the fun. Very cute little boy, that only play or smile at ladies hahaahaha... guys pls stay away huh...
