My Special day

Tomorrow will be a special day for me. It's not going to happened every year, that's why it make it so special tomorrow.

I called it 4 in 1 : ) Why? 

Not sure how many ppl know abt this, every 19 years your lunar birthday will fall on the same day as your actually birthday. So this year will be my 2nd ''lunar+western'' birthday on same day. Well, to be exact.. ya 19+19= 38. Yes, I'm 38 this yr :D

And 22nd April is also an earth day. Many ppl mistook it's as sometime in early April but no, the actually Earth day is 22nd April. : )

To add on to this special occasion, it's a GOOD FRIDAY! yeah, so it's 4 in 1 isn't it? haha maybe I over react, but to me it's really special. Just like some ppl whose BD falls on CNY or X'mas, I believe they will have the same special feeling like me : p

How am I going to celebrate? 

I don't know, really. I wanna feel happy and no disappointment. So I did not set any expectation or planning or celebration at all. No expectation = no disappointment, No disappointment = Happy.

I gonna have an open mind and open heart. Simple, just feel happy from this moment onwards and guess that's the best Birthday gift I have for myself. : )

Dinner with BD girl

Wah..busy busy weeks past, time to catch up with Ex-colleagues cum frenz. Decided to meet up during CY's BD, it's an unplanned surprise for her actually. Y unplanned surprise? huh huh.. dinner was arranged by Deryl and we were all too busy to communicate, so we din informed CY who & who will be attending the dinner,  she tot was only her & Deryl hahaha.. and upon seeing me & Jiawen she was caught in Surprise!

Raindrops at Scape Park, heard abt it from frenz & read some review. Scape park is a new place for the youth. Felt abit out while walking towards the cafe hahaa. A simple small cafe yet cosy, lay back & relax ambience. With a very straight forward menu, not much variety but the food was good. Staff was friendly too.

This is super good... Chunky mushroom soup. Concentrated thick soup, I love it , thumb up up!

 Seafood Pasta & Vongole...both look the same to me haha..

 And a Hawaiian pizza for all of us. I love the thin crust, & the toppings was generous too.

 BD girl, Grilled Salmon. It's too dry, abit over cooked, so not recommended.

Ofcoz not forgetting her BD cake. Jiawen bot from Bakerzin along the way to Scape, actually Raindrops do have nice cake but we preferred to have a whole cake than a single slice. 

Made a wish!! Grow Taller..bigger...prettier..hahaha standard wishes for the petite : D

We left with a full & satisfied stomach : )

BD celebration for July

It's monthly BD celebrations again : )  I personally don't like to celebrate my birthday in a big group... just don't feel easy with it, but I do enjoying others celebrating their BD : D

With a pinch of Salt cafe at Tanjong Katong Road, opposite the Pungol Nasi Lemak. A very cute & sweet theme cafe. I love the theme, its simply so so cute. Thou the place is abit small & a bit noisy (maybe was us that create all the noise) The place is still very nice for gathering, BD celebration or a small party.

The interior: simple, sweet, cute, relaxing..what else to comment, oh and a lovely friendly lady boss.

Food food food !!! The waiting time was quiet long due to lack of staff & cafe running  full house. The food was ok, dun have the WOW feeling but edible : ) Some of them complaint too small portion, and chicken leg too dry. While others were ok with the food.

Some1 on diet for months & now on the most heavy & meaty meals : D (name not to be disclosed hahaa wait I kena hammer)

This looks nice, maybe will give it a try next time.

And my Grill Dory sambal fish : ) was perfect for me. Soft & fresh fish with spicy sambal. Remember someone ask me "why you always eat sambal?" ok.. I love spicy food ofcoz, and on the safe side I will usual choose sambal to go along coz it will nrv go wrong & can cover any unpleasant taste. Well that's my own theory lah : )

Happy Birthday to Me

Very happy to receive this cake on my desk, it just few days of work & ppl remember my birthday : ) A very nice new colleague of mine bot me this cake & it heart warming. As usual dun like to celebrate my birthday in a big group, I just like to be with my closes frenz, family & love one.

Gave budd a call in the morning & asked her out for dinner together with Nic & Viv. Since Dar not in town so lets made it all girls day out : ) Received the flowers just min after we set down. A surprised fr Budd. she & all her funny ideas. Thanks Budd!

We have a nice cosy corner at New York New York, Kovan. It's my 1st time here, was highly recommended by Viv. She told me here got nice food & big big portion of food.

We ordered a small ribs to share. It's yummy, thou a bit oily but I like the marinated taste.

Bake rice for Nic, it's her fave. Every time bake rice, bake rice...and bake rice : D

Chicken chop for Viv, a big portion too. I was worried she can't finished & we still have a Spring Chicken & ribs to go....

As for me & budd we shared a whole spring chicken. It really big, and with chips & salad it worth the value. Both of us can hardly finished this chicken too.

Another surprised fr her, this time the staff sang birthday songs to me, very pei say =D

Breakfast whole day?

Wanted to try out this cafe ever since I read abt it in a frenz FB. It's serves bkf for the whole day. That means a Bkf lover like me, would have bkf any time in the day : ) yeah, I like this concept. Went to read up a few reviews on this cafe. Most of the comments were on the negatives side ...hmmm so shld I still go on???
Budd Birthday was just round the counter, Y not we give it a try? But will she like it? Well, just go ahead & surprise her then. After all she does like to explore new places too hehehee...
Easter Friday, brunch at Mandarin Gallery. This was what I told her : ) not going to disclose the place until she's there. She was early : ) ok, "pls proceed to lvl 3, Wild Honey" I told her, she was huh? wat tat? hahahha surprised gal. But was also a great surprised to all of us. We were put on the waiting list for the next 1hr...rrrr.... not only crowded, the ppl there took their own sweet time enjoying the bkf. Guess that the reason why ppl gave negatives feedback, I was being showed a long black face too by..... as usual lah I almost used to it liao. A hungry man is an angry man, that's wat I always consoled myself. Just hope the food will be good & everything gonna be ok. This is a very unique cafe, the menu all written on the black broad & have to order over the counter & make payment at the same time. They serves whole day bkf, and bkf from all over the world. I love this.

I had a European Bkf, the Eggs Benedicts. This is 1 of my fav, has wanted to make this bkf for Dar but no chance yet, coz this has to be eaten while its hot and blend with the hollandaise sauce..hmm haven : p since we can get this bkf here so die die I must go for it : ) Look at the poached eggs, the egg yolk just flows out smoothly when i poked it. Dip the bread in the yolk & a bite on the bacon, wow...irresistible.

Budd had this English bkf, it's a super big bkf lor..hahha.. bacon, sausage, scramble eggs, bread, wild mushrooms, potatoes. I dun think I'll be able to finish this big bkf by myself.

Dar & Allan had the Mexican bkf, it's a Burrito Bkf with eggs & meat fold in the tortillas. The Chilly at the side was really very spicy but it blend well with the burrito.Hey, look up gal. So envy this couple, they always look so great with each other.

And a little gift for budd. This is an inexpensive stuff but it's very useful : ) Hope she will like it & find it useful too.

Although it just a short brunch together & the waiting time was kinda long & the food was not cheap too. But wat matter most is the quality time we spent together & we love the food. I'm looking forward to come here again, maybe just have to avoid peak hours.
