What a bite!!!

These bites has been following me way back NZ months ago... it's really itchy & ugly & worst, no matter how hard I tried I still can't get ride of it. Been to clinic for many many times hopefully that it will really kill this damn sickening evil bugs.

Was told that this is not bed bug but sandflies... puzzled... it's winter there how to go beach & beaten by Sandflies??? But after some research I do agreed might be sandflies. Where it also called 'BlackFly' in NZ, or "namu' in Maori.

Anyway, Dr told me that there's still 'syringe' inside the bites so will take times to heal. Patience, patience... sigh..wat to do but to apply the cream diligently & on few medication to ease my allergy.

Warning! Pic might be gross!!!

4 on the right ankle subsided but 2 relapse after some time..: S and 1 more bite on my left ankle, total 5 bites. This is wat it looks like now for the 2 relapse on the right.

My 5 bites history:
  • Was damn itchy during my entire trip, Dar bot some antiseptics for me to apply.
  • Back to SNG, itchy persistence so bot more cream over counter to apply. Result: still the same, itch subsided & reappeared after 3days.
  • Buay tahan liao so visited clinic. Was given some medication and some 'better' cream to apply.
  • Name of cream: Neoderm (for insects bites).

2 weeks later....

  • Still itchy & looked swell... : (
  • So went to another clinic for better opinion. Got 1jabs on EACH bites, total 4 jabs on the right ankle : ( Left the clinic with a 'pig trotters' swell & pain)
  • Didn't jab the 1 on the left coz it's looks okie & nearly subsided.. (i tot)
1 month later......

  • The jabs worked, no more itch on the right ankle but my skin turned PALE white (like dead skin) horrible... since no more itch so I leave it as it is, thro looks ugly but better than itchy.
  • The left bite started to itch... OMG I shld have gave it a jab too.. regrets.
  • Went back to clinic, Dr said it's ok just con't the cream & medications.
  • apply... apply... & apply.
2 month later....

  • Right side seems ok, recovering soon. Happy & jolly : )
  • Left side bite grew slightly bigger... and itch, very itchy..
  • Clinic again, hoping to get a jab to settle it once & for all.
  • Dr advise not to jab, coz the bite has been there for too long. Another cream was recommended - Combiderm
  • apply ... apply... & apply...
another week later.....

  • Left side still itchy : (
  • Worst nightmare..Right side 2 of the bites suddenly became itchy again, & got kinda burning sensation.. worried me.
  • Dun wan to wait further, went to clinic again & asked for referral letter to National Skin centre.
  • Was told by Dr not to worry, coz this is still very minor so no need to go NSC. He told me this is more like a sandflies bite & the syringe of the insect has penetrated deep into my skin that is why all cream can only cover the surface & not beneath the skin.
  • Was given 2 types of cream, 1 to moisture & soften the 1st layer of skin. Then a 2nd cream to 'attack' deeper. Also some anti inflammation med & anti allergy med for my sensitive skin.

I am now having... so many med lorh : (
Gosh .. I really hope this time it will works & kill the "highly intelligent'' unknown insects : s Wat else can I do but to apply the cream diligently & guai guai take the med lor : (

Or maybe I shld try the Maori way : }

"Māori used crushed leaves of the ngaio tree (Myoporum laetum) to deter mosquitoes and sandflies. They also doused their bodies with oil, and with kōkōwai (red ochre) when working naked in the fields. To soothe itchy bites, they applied a juice made from crushed ngaio leaves or from fronds of rarauhe or bracken fern (Pteridium esculentum)."

And Prayer too

"My Lord, pls heal all the bites, let it subside & never come back again. By your grace, in Jesus name I pray. AMEN!!!"
